Usando una variable booleana dentro de nuestra app

¿Porqué de este modo? Cuando se usa un elemento template cuya variable resulta ser false, el navegador destruye el elemento de la vista, pero si usamos dos elementos divs y v-show para mostrar o ocultar, estos elementos no se destruyen solo se ocultan con css y la pagina carga más rápido.

Filtros

Con Vuejs se pueden agregar filtros antes de mostrar el elemento, esto significa agregar una función que funciona como filtro antes de dibujar el objeto. 

Como un ejemplo agregamos al titulo una función para hacer las letras mayusculas:

Tap “Software Update” on the Home screen to enter the update center

By default, all diagnostic software is selected. To deselect certain software, tap “Unselect”, and then check the box next to vehicle model. Tap “Update” to start downloading. It may take several minutes to finish it, please be patient to wait. To pause downloading, tap “Stop”. To resume it, tap “Continue”. If network connection failure occurs, tap “Retry” to try again.

Once download is finished, the software packages will be installed automatically.

Part 2. How to Set Frequently Used software

To easily locate and quickly update some frequently used software, you can use the “Common Software” option to create a frequently used software list.

Tap “Common software” tap “+”, a pop-up window appears. Select the checkbox before the software name and tap “SAVE”, the software will be displayed in the Common software list. Next time you want to update it, just go to “Common Software”.

Part 3.Renew Subscription

If the software subscription is due or expires, the system will prompt you to renew your subscription and a “Renewal” button will appear on the bottom of the update page.

There are two ways available for you to make payment: PayPal and Subscription Renewal Card (*need to buy it from the local dealer where you purchased the X-431 PAD V).

Using PayPal

Tap “Renewal” on the update page to navigate to the renewal type selection screen.

Select “PayPal”, and then follow the on-screen instructions to finish the transaction.

After payment, go to update center to update the diagnostic software.

Using Subscription Renewal Card

Tap “Renewal” to navigate to the renewal type selection screen.

Select “Subscription Renewal Card”.

Input the 24-digit password of Subscription Renewal Card and then tap “Submit” to finish the renewal.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Recently, some of the most common questions I am hearing from my friends and colleagues are centered around the concept of privilege: What does it mean? What should I do about it? How can I learn more?

Often, the way people talk about privilege makes it seem like a black and white subject — as if you either have it, or you don’t — but privilege is more complex than that. We all have varying degrees of privilege and disadvantage that impact how we see and move through the world. 

When we think about privilege as a matter of “haves” and “have nots,” we make it into a divisive issue, but when it’s taught appropriately, it’s an exercise in empathy. It draws us together, instead of pushing us apart. It keeps us aware of how often we assume the conditions of someone else’s life and may not be aware of the obstacles they’ve overcome in order to get where they are. 

As leaders, one of the most powerful things we can do for our teams is to learn about and acknowledge our own privilege. Then, leverage it. There’s no need to apologize for your privilege. Use it to open doors. In that way, privilege becomes part of active, intentional, everyday inclusion, and it gives us a way to practice allyship with others. When we offer our teams the opportunity to learn more about privilege, with additional resources like articles, books, and podcasts to explore it on their own, we model inclusion and show them that “diversity” means more than race and gender.

I have many privileges. Among them are that I had two loving parents, that I grew up in a household where I felt safe, that I was raised speaking English in schools where the lessons were also in English, that my gender identity aligns with the sex I was assigned at birth, that I am a man in the tech industry and that I have the power and authority of my C-suite position. Yet there are also ways in which I am sometimes disadvantaged by other people’s assumptions about who I am and what I am capable of. 

Writing this weekly column is also a privilege because I have the great opportunity to share my life lessons and leadership philosophy to help other people challenge their thinking. This week, I want to use that privilege to pass the microphone to one of the experts from my team at The Diversity Movement: Jackie Ferguson, Head of Content and Programming. Jackie and the team regularly host virtual privilege walks that explore the concept of privilege, and in March, she published a longer version of this exceptional article in Forbes. I’m sharing it here because I know it will help you to reframe privilege and leverage it as a leader. 

Privilege is Not a Dirty Word

As a Certified Diversity Executive and a teacher, uncomfortable conversations are part of my job. At The Diversity Movement, we talk about racism, bias and exclusion every day. We dive deep into microaggressions, prejudice and identity. But privilege is the one word and topic that always elicits a strong allergic reaction. 

For many people, privilege is a dirty word. It carries a stigma that feels shameful and heavy. People who align themselves with privilege often feel guilty and embarrassed of it, and people who don’t align with privilege usually feel embarrassed too. In that mindset, it’s easy to believe there are only two sides of the coin. Yet, as someone who has led thousands of people through Virtual Privilege Walks, I promise you that’s just not true.

Privilege is a complex topic because people often associate it with one race, one gender or with affluence, and because it is sometimes interpreted as carrying an accusation or a condemnation. Playing GTA as the Winter Soldier

I found out a while back that you can add mods to the Grand Theft Auto games to change the players, cars, etc.  This discovery led to me seeing that there are player mods for bucky barnes.  I played GTA San Andreas on my PC back in 2005 when it first came out.  I have GTA V on PlayStation.  Now, I don’t consider myself a gamer and i’m certainly not a hacker.  But I really wanted to drive Bucky Barnes around this game and let him blow up shit.  The process took me hours.  There were lots of youtube videos, downloads, some questionable websites, cursing.  But I finally did it.  Below the cut is the entire process with all of the links I used.

Covering my ass

First off, do this at your own risk.  My virus detector didn’t ping on any of the links I’ve included, but you never know when that might change.  In other words, I’m not responsible if your computer catches something.  

All of these downloads were free.  Unless Rockstar has you pay for the game (like 14.99).  Other than that, all of the modding downloads are free.

Second, to mod GTA on PlayStation, you have to jailbreak it.  I didn’t want to do that so I figured the PC option was the best.  Now, GTA V won’t run on my laptop because I was cheap and didn’t get the latest and greatest gamer laptop.  So I opted for GTA San Andreas.

GTA San Andreas 

The first step is to get San Andreas from the official Rockstar site.  They are currently offering the game for free with the Rock Star Launcher.

Follow the instructions to install the launcher.  Then, install the game from the launcher.  Now, if you just want to play the game and don’t care about the mods, you’re good to go.  Otherwise, keep reading cause it gets complicated.

Making the game modable

This version of the game cannot be modded.  And even if you attempt to, Rockstar will see the files that have been dinked and walk over them with an update (I found this out the hard way).  So you will need a different version of the executable and will also need to run a process to downgrade the game to the original version.

Step 1 - copy the entire game folder to a new folder so the original files will stay intact.  For example, Rockstar put my game in C:\program files\Rockstar games\grand theft auto san andreas.  I copied every file in that folder to a new folder called c:\program files\gta san andreas modded

Step 2 - go to your new folder and rename or delete the gta_sa.exe file

Step 3 - download the steam version of the executable and place it in the new folder.

Step 4 - now you will need to download an app that will downgrade the game to the original version.  This app can be downloaded here  

Step 5 - run the downgrader and point it to your new game folder.  Now, its supposed to connect to a RockstarNexus server and give you checkboxes to enhance the process. I got an error connecting to the server.  If you get an error, just keep going and run the process.  I will tell you what you need to do next.  If you see the checkboxes, check all of them before running the process.

You will need to download Cleo and something called a Silent Patch

Cleo

Cleo is a plug in to allow modding in the game.  Download the installer from here for GTA San Andreas (there are different versions for different GTAs).  When you go to install Cleo, point to your new game directory and it will put the needed files there.

Silent Patch

I’m not sure what this does, but was told it was needed.  This is just a zip file.  Download it here.  Then copy the files from the zip file to your game directory.

Test the game

At this point, run the game from your new directory just to make sure its running correctly.  You don’t have to do this, but it may save you some steps if something isn’t working right.

Skin Selector

Now we are finally ready to start installing Bucky.  The first thing you need to download is the skin selector which works with Cleo in the game.  This will let you choose different skins to be your player.  Get it here

From the skin selector zip file, pull out the skin_c.cs and the skin.img files and store them under the Cleo directory in your game directory.

Also, go to the data directory in your game directory and open the file gta.dat in notepad (or any text editor).  You will need to insert the following line into this file and save it (make a back up if you feel like it).

This is a link to the first one I found.  There are tons of mods of all kinds of characters out there if you want to make more.

Infinity War Winter Soldier

You will get two files with this download.  One with extension .dff and one with .txd.  You need both.

IMG tool

You need one more app to install the bucky files.  Img Tool will change one of the gta characters into Bucky.  Download and run img tool.  You will see a screen like this.

You may see an error message when you first open it, just click ok and ignore it.

Step 1.  Go to the File menu and choose Open.  Choose the gta3.img file in the Models folder of your game directory.

Step 2.  Select a dff file.  I chose to select bmybe.dff because that was the one the youtuber picked.  Its just one of the random characters that wander the streets in the game.  But remember which one you chose.

Step 3.  Go to Commands and click Replace.  When it prompts for a file, choose your winter soldier dff file and continue.

Step 4.  Go to Commands and click rebuild Archive.  This will take a minute.

Step 5.  Select the matching .txd file (i.e. bmybe.txd) and replace it with the winter soldier .txd file

Step 6.  Rebuild the archive again.

Run the Game

Now run the game and get it to the point where CJ is waiting to do something.  Press TAB + Q + E all at the same time and the skin selector menu will popup in the corner.  Use the mouse wheel to scroll down to find bmybe or whichever one you replaced with winter soldier.  Choose it and voila.  CJ is now Bucky.  

I’m planning to see if I can replace some other characters as well,  But right now I’m tired.  This was a big pain in the ass.  Hopefully these steps will help it be less of a pain in the ass for you guys.

Edit, if you want to do more characters, you only have to do the steps that involve the img tool and then selecting the character in the game.

LoH: Trails of Cold Steel PC Guest Blog #2 from Peter “Durante” Thoman - Graphical Enhancements & Options

Welcome to the second part of this 3-part series on the PC port of Trails of Cold Steel. The first part dealt with lifting the performance of the game to a level that I consider acceptable -- great even. Of course, you might now be wondering what to do with all that performance headroom if you’re planning to play on something faster than a GPD Win. After all, there isn’t really any need to run a turn-based JRPG at 300 FPS or more.

In this article I’ll introduce the various graphical settings I’ve added to the game, going into a bit more detail on some of them. I’ve been looking forward to this one in particular, so I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.

The Launcher

Let’s start with a look at the game’s launcher:

There are a few things I’d like to remark on:

The entire launcher you see here can be navigated just using a gamepad (actually, I made a tool for this that allows natural 2D-navigation and changing options in arbitrary C# WinForms dialogs using Xinput, and XSEED has graciously agreed to allow me to open source it, so look for that on my blog when things are less hectic)

Can you spot the typo on this screenshot? It’s fixed by now.

The rest of this article will look at the options contained in the “Display”, “Image Quality”, “Shading” and “Graphics” sections of the launcher in order.

Display

Here, you have the basic choice between windowed or fullscreen rendering with or without v-sync. In terms of framerate, there are 3 settings: a 30 FPS limit, a 60 FPS limit, and unlimited FPS. While the game was 30 FPS on consoles, in the PC version both 30 and 60 are fully supported. Unlimited variable FPS also work very well in all my testing, but are not fully QA’d throughout the game and offered on a “your own risk” basis.

Finally, I’ve also added an option for adjusting the Field of View (FoV). While not as important as in first-person games, playing close to a large monitor often makes a larger Field of View desirable. Here you see a comparison between the default FoV (left) and a very high setting (I wouldn’t personally choose one this high, it’s just for illustration):

Image Quality

This section deals with resolution, anti-aliasing (AA) and texture filtering. Resolution works as you would expect. In terms of anti-aliasing, MSAA 2x, 4x and 8x are supported, and transparency supersampling (TrSSAA) is there as a high-end option to improve the quality of alpha-tested surfaces. It was strange to discover that TrSSAA is actually significantly more difficult to implement in DX11 than it is in Direct3D 9 or OpenGL, but at least that explains why so few games offer it. Here is a comparison to show what each option does -- of course, the difference is much more pronounced in motion:

Before we move on to shading, there’s one thing I need to get off my chest. You know what really annoys me? When games offer some AA option, but do not apply that AA solution consistently to everything in the game (like e.g. character models in menus.) I had to extend the underlying engine to do it, but rest assured that when you select an AA option in Trails of Cold Steel on PC, everything will get that level of AA:

The main game rendering will be AA’d of course.

The rendered character dialogue portraits will also get the AA.

The character models shown on the equip screen? AA’d.

Character busts during special events? AA’d.

Yes, even the minimap rendering gets MSAA. And TrSSA. Because why not! 

Oh, and there’s an anisotropic filtering option. It’s just a checkbox, because honestly, there’s no reason to bother with less than 16xAF for this game. Even the GPD Win can do it!

Shading

Now this is where things get even more interesting. There are four options related to the quality of dynamic shadows:

Shadow Resolution, which, as you’d expect, adjusts the resolution of the shadow maps all the way from “low” to “absurd”.

Shadow Casters, changing which objects cast shadows. Shadows are often enabled only selectively for performance reasons, with artists manually selecting which objects and characters are sufficiently “important” to cast shadows. This setting overrides that selection and makes every object in the scene cast a shadow.

Shadow Distance, which can increase the distance shadows are cast at. Ever annoyed by shadows appearing and disappearing a few meters in front of you? I know I am. Well, not on my watch.

Finally, Shadow Filtering enables softer and more aesthetically pleasing shadow transitions.

Even with these improved real-time shadows, the game’s environments still looked a bit flat. Since the environments, unlike the characters’ cel shading, are rendered and shaded in a more realistic style, I thought that a more realistic modern technique, namely ambient occlusion, might look good. With some engine improvements I was able to integrate HBAO+, one of the highest-quality and best-performing AO solutions available:

As you can see, it lends everything a lot more depth and plasticity, and also makes objects in the shadows appear more grounded. 

Graphics

Last, but certainly not least, the “Graphics” options seem comparatively unexciting with just two checkboxes: and really, the High Quality Depth of Field setting just does what it says on the tin and while it’s a nice improvement, it’s nothing to write home about.

On the other hand, the Unlimited Draw Distance option is, and excuse me if I say so myself, a really big deal. In fact, doing something about the draw distance was one of the very first requests that came up when the first article was posted. What I’ve done about it is completely eliminate any form of pop-in, by making all objects and characters draw at any range. On some maps this is quite a significant extra CPU load, especially combined with full shadow casters, but nothing a modern Desktop PC can’t easily deal with. 

Since pop-in is hard to demonstrate in images, I’ve made a video that really shows off the considerable effect of this option. 

Other Improvements and Conclusion

In addition to these options, there are a few graphical improvements over the console version that are “always on” and don’t have a launcher option. For example, the glow effects are rendered at 4 times the fidelity, and uncompressed textures are used instead of the compressed assets designed for consoles wherever they were available.

I hope you’ll enjoy these graphical improvements as much as I enjoyed creating them and writing about them. In the final article, we’ll have a look at some non-graphical features, and one particular, somewhat programming-intensive graphical option that will make a few people really happy and which I never expected XSEED to go for.
